Becky-David Teacher Bonnie Getz Wins KPLR/Weber Chevrolet Tools for Teachers Award

Teachers make a difference every day with our children, and it takes a variety of educational tools to help students achieve success. KPLR Television, in partnership with Weber Chevrolet, has been offering local teachers who are nominated by community members $500 to use in their classroom as a sign of appreciation for the dedication and selflessness of these often unheralded public servants.

KPLR and Weber Chevrolet have been awarding Tools for Teachers since 2014, and the latest winner has certainly made a positive impact on the lives of so many children – Bonnie Getz. Getz is a third grade teacher at Becky-David Elementary. A product of St. Charles County schools herself, she knows just how important it is to continue the county’s legacy of outstanding free public education.

Getz’s principal, Sherri Brown, explains the teacher’s impact best. “Bonnie Getz is an incredible, passionate teacher who fosters strong relationships with her students and meets their academic and emotional needs to help them be their best selves,” Brown said. “She is a teacher who takes whatever she learns and immediately implements it into her classroom to provide them with the best learning environment possible. We are so fortunate to have her and many like her as teachers at Becky-David!”
