The Francis Howell School District Board of Education has approved the hiring of Christina Pliske as a new assistant principal at Becky-David Elementary School, effective July 1, 2019. Pliske is currently an instructional coach at Harvest Ridge Elementary. She replaces Jill Oetting, who has been selected as the Becky-David Principal for the 2019-20 school year.

Pliske is looking forward to the opportunity with great anticipation and enthusiasm. “I am extremely excited to join the team at Becky-David. I look forward to building positive relationships with students, families, and staff.  I’m thankful for the opportunity to serve the Becky-David school community, and continue to learn, grow, and lead with them.”

Pliske came to the District as a third grade teacher at Harvest Ridge in 2016. Prior to that, she taught in both the City of St. Charles School District and in the Fort Worth Independent School District. In addition to her current role as instructional coach, she has served as a Leadership in Education Administration (LEAP) intern and a Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) leader. She has also worked as an English Language Arts (ELA) and social studies curriculum writer and developed a MAP test preparation unit for third graders across the District. She has volunteered in a variety of capacities at the school and District level, including the care team, family engagement team, literacy and math data team, and the District’s strategic planning committee.

Pliske has a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from Saint Louis University and a master’s degree in educational administration from Lindenwood University.
