The Francis Howell School District has announced that Jill Oetting has been selected as the new principal at Becky-David Elementary School, effective July 1, 2019. Oetting has served as an assistant principal at Becky-David for the past four years. She will succeed current principal Sherri Brown, who is retiring at the end of the 2018-19 school year.

As the new principal, Oetting is looking forward to the challenge of leading the school. “I am excited to begin my new role at Becky-David,” said Oetting. “There is no place I would rather be to lead out our vision and plans for creating learning environments that are student-focused and accepting of everyone. Together with our staff and families, I am eager to find ways to continue improving our academics and social skills for our students.”

Oetting started her teaching career at Francis Howell North where she taught business and marketing for seven years. After leaving to go to another district for several years, she returned to Harvest Ridge Elementary in 2010, where she taught fourth and fifth grade and was named the school’s Teacher of the Year in 2013. As a participant in the District’s Leadership of Education Administration Program (LEAP) from 2012-14, she had the opportunity to serve as a substitute assistant principal at every level in the District. In 2015, she was selected as an assistant principal at Becky-David.

Oetting has a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Missouri State University and a master’s degree in marketing from Lindenwood University. She also holds an educational specialist in school administration degree from Lindenwood University.
